Looking to take the next step in your career? Our client is seeking a talented Shift Engineer (Electrically biased) to join their dynamic team and contribute to their continued growth.
    
The role of Shift Engineer is a varied one, covering maintenance services across a wide range of plant and equipment within the manufacturing facility. You will be involved with CI activities as well as day to day shift engineering duties.
  
The company is a leading manufacturer in their field and are a long-standing well-known business based in Driffield.
  
They operate a 2 weekly rotating shift pattern. Working days and nights, 12 hours shifts covering Monday to Sunday.

The Shift Engineer role:
  • Maintain service and repair plant machinery to minimise production down time.
  • Reactive and PPM duties. Electrical and Mechanical.
  • Ensure faults, breakdowns or issues are logged and reported correctly.
  • Carry out fault finding and repair of equipment and facilities.
  • Promote risk assessments to ensure safe systems of working.
  • Willingly take up opportunities for training in specialist plant and equipment.
  • Seek out and highlight opportunities for continuous improvement, production efficiencies and cost effectiveness.
  • Support and conduct regular inspections and testing.

The Candidate:
  • A background in manufacturing environments, ideally with good exposure to both manual and automated production equipment
  • Understanding of continuous improvement initiatives
  • Awareness of PLC systems. PLC control experience to a fault finding level
  • Good experience of managing safety in your daily activities
  • Strong team working capabilities
  • Experience working with CMMS platforms
  • Experience in identifying improvement projects
  • Formal EH&S qualification (IOSH/NEBOSH)
  • HNC (or equivalent)
  
Ideally you will have a high level of knowledge, and practical experience in instrumentation loops, calibration techniques & control systems
