As an OHL Design Engineer, you’ll work within a skilled multi-disciplinary team to develop design solutions for new and upgraded electricity transmission infrastructure. You’ll produce concept and detailed designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and help deliver safe, cost-effective, and buildable solutions for clients.

This role is ideal for professionals with a background in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering, particularly those with experience in high-voltage design, OHL systems, or utility infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop concept and detailed designs for overhead line structures and systems
- Prepare and check technical reports, design intent documents, calculations, and analysis
- Work alongside Lead Engineers to support design delivery across project phases
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, health and safety, and CDM requirements
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including site teams and clients
- Review risk assessments and support construction implementation
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
- Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 2 years’ post-graduate industry experience
- Familiarity with PLS-CADD, PLS-Tower, or similar industry software (advantageous)
- Working knowledge of BS EN 50341 and other industry standards
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
