Head of EC&I

Our client have an excellent opportunity to join their Hull Plant as Head of EC&I.

This role sits with within a reputable, well established and well funded company that offers a great culture and working environment as well as ongoing challenges and growth potential.

As the Head of EC&I you will act as the technical authority and lead the team in ensuring compliance for your accountabilities on site. Leading a close working team of capable engineers you will drive optimisation projects as well as maintain & drive safety standards on site.

Key responsibilities of the Head of EC&I:
  • Lead the EC&I departmental activities acting as the Technical Authority & Authorised Person
  • Promote group best practice behaviours within the site
  • Drive projects and technical solution deployment on site
  • Foster close working relationships with leadership counterparts and broader teams,
  • Lead reliability investigations to determine root cause and drive projects to improve site reliability
  • Actively seek to maintain and enhance breadth of knowledge and understanding of control technology through academic links and relationships with equipment vendors ensuring technical developments are evaluated and exploited where appropriate
  • Assist with process Safety Reviews including HAZOP and LoPA
  • Close liaison with regulatory bodies and auditors
  • Ensure safe operations within your function at all times
  • Work closely with your team to develop them in line with business needs and operations.
Qualifications of the head of EC&I
  • Degree in Electrical and or Instrument Engineering or equivalent
  • Ideally a Chartered Engineer
  • NEBOSH certificate (or equivalent) or better preferred
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role operating on an Upper tier COMAH site.
  • High Voltage (HV) systems and equipment knowledge
  • Low Voltage systems and equipment knowledge
  • DCS Control Systems knowledge preferred
  • Siemens PLC Control Systems knowledge
  • Capable leader with a collaborative ethos and willingness to support and develop your team in the long term.
