This Design Engineer role sits within a collaborative drawing office environment where you will work closely with sales, production and suppliers. The successful Design Engineer will contribute to product development, manufacturing support and continuous improvement across engineering design activities.
The Opportunity:
As a Design Engineer you’ll play a key role in:
- Supporting internal sales teams by providing technical guidance and responding to engineering queries
- Producing approval drawings and detailed designs to support manufacturing and customer requirements
- Collaborating with shopfloor teams to resolve design and manufacturing queries
- Creating and issuing Bills of Materials to support efficient production processes
- Working with suppliers and customers to ensure designs are suitable for manufacture and installation
- Your work will directly contribute to the successful delivery of engineered products that meet customer specifications, manufacturing standards and project deadlines.
We’re looking for someone who can bring:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Engineering Design or a similar discipline
- Strong experience using SolidWorks 3D for product design and technical drawings
- Experience working with sheet metal design and fabrication processes
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple drawing deadlines
- Strong organisational and communication skills when working with production teams and suppliers
- Experience with AutoCAD, design calculations or technical file preparation for specification standards would be advantageous
