As Head of Engineering you will lead Maintenance, Reliability, Site Infrastructure, Facilities and associated projects linked to site reliability improvement or wider continuous improvement initiatives, you will also foster a positive development culture leading initiatives like the engineering graduate programme.
Collaborating with established and high calibre teams, the Head of Engineering will agree and drive improvements and progressive processed into the departmental operations supporting the daily operations as well as assisting in realising the growth aspirations of the business.
Your department consists of established and capable teams with competencies including Electrical and Mechanical Engineering as well as Project Management skillsets.
You will be able to foster strong collaborative relationships with key reports as well as peers within other departmental functions to ensure management and expectations of projects and expectations are aligned.
The Head of Engineering will be responsible for:
- Managing strategic execution for the continuous improvement of the departments activities to drive improved efficiencies, reliability, and available capacity
- Develop and embed proactive behaviours regarding maintenance and reliability
- Agree and develop appropriate metrics to measure departmental performance
- Identify improvement projects
- Enhance the use of the CMMS systems
- Contribute to the broader operations activities, identifying opportunities to improve and collaborating on delivering projects to improve processes.
- Collaborate closely with cross departmental teams.
- Strong technical / engineering background
- Experience leading teams to deliver cost saving, efficiency, and process improvements.
- Good awareness and understanding of Automation, Robotics, PLC’s, Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems etc
- Broad business acumen, appreciating your part in the grand scheme of the sites operations and willingness to engage to contribute more broadly
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
