The Role:
As Engineering Stores Controller, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the engineering stores, ensuring critical spares and materials are well-managed and available to support production and maintenance teams. You will play a key role in driving inventory accuracy, minimising downtime, and identifying opportunities for cost-saving and improved supplier service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all stock within the engineering stores, ensuring accuracy and availability.
- Liaise with engineering and maintenance teams to ensure parts and consumables are ordered in a timely manner.
- Monitor usage and stock levels, carrying out regular stock audits and reviews.
- Develop and maintain supplier relationships to ensure high levels of service and product availability.
- Source alternative parts and manage lead times to minimise delays or disruptions.
- Support cost-saving initiatives through smarter procurement and stock control strategies.
- Maintain accurate records, implement best practices, and continuously improve stores processes and procedures.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in an engineering stores, MRO, or purchasing/stores control role.
- Strong organisational and stock management skills with great attention to detail.
- Proficient with inventory/ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools.
- Confident communicator who can liaise effectively with internal teams and suppliers.
- Proactive and solution-focused approach with a passion for continuous improvement.
- Salary of £35,000 - £40,000 per annum (depending on experience).
