The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering exceptional results in asset care, driving continuous improvement in planned preventive maintenance (PPM) performance, upskilling engineers, and managing capital projects while ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Asset Care Management
- Lead the site’s asset care strategy, ensuring that all equipment and facilities are properly maintained and optimised for maximum performance.
- Implement best practices in asset reliability, condition monitoring, and preventative maintenance.
- Continuously assess the condition of critical assets, introducing improvement plans to extend lifespan and reduce failures.
- Improved PPM (Planned Preventive Maintenance) Performance
- Ensure the delivery of a robust and effective PPM program that maximises equipment availability and reliability.
- Identify and drive improvements in PPM activities to enhance plant productivity and reduce downtime.
- Use data and analytics to monitor PPM performance and make informed decisions to improve overall efficiency.
- Upskilling and Development of Engineering Team
- Mentor, train, and develop the engineering team to improve their technical skills and operational knowledge.
- Lead the talent development process, ensuring engineers are empowered with the latest industry knowledge and best practices.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth within the team.
- Capital Projects
- Manage and deliver capital projects on time and within budget, ensuring that all projects align with business goals.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external contractors to design, plan, and implement new engineering projects.
- Oversee the procurement, installation, and commissioning of new equipment and systems, ensuring successful handover to operations teams.
- Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Culture
- Promote and ensure adherence to a strong HSE culture, ensuring all engineering activities comply with industry regulations and company standards.
- Lead by example, promoting a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement in HSE performance.
- Implement and uphold safe working practices across all engineering operations, identifying and mitigating potential risks.
- Budget Management & Cost Control
- Develop and manage the engineering budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and controlling expenditure.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities within the engineering function without compromising quality or safety.
- Ensure the procurement of spares and services aligns with business objectives, securing best value for money.
- Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or relevant discipline).
- Professional certification in HSE or relevant field is advantageous.
- Experience:
- ▪ Proven experience in an Engineering Manager or similar leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
- ▪ Strong track record in asset care, PPM, and capital project management.
- ▪ Experience in leading, motivating, and upskilling engineering teams.
- Technical Skills:
- ▪ Deep understanding of asset management, reliability engineering, and maintenance best practices.
- ▪ Knowledge of modern engineering technologies, tools, and equipment.
- ▪ Proficient in using CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems) and data analytics to drive improvements.
- Soft Skills:
- ▪ Strong leadership, decision-making, and team-building skills.
- ▪ Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
- ▪ High level of organisation and problem-solving skills.
