Job Description:
Job Title: Skilled CNC Machinist (Milling/Turning)

Job Purpose:

As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines to perform precision machining operations.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Setup and Programming: Read engineering drawings, determine necessary fixtures, attachments, and tools, and mount them to the machine. Write or adjust programming instructions as needed.
  • Machining Operations: Modify machine speed, tooling, and cutting style to ensure precision. Oversee the cutting process, adjust as necessary, and address any errors promptly.
  • Quality Control: Inspect all finished products for accuracy and uniformity to ensure product quality and uphold company standards.
  • Machine Maintenance: Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance tasks including lubrication, cleaning, and tool replacement.
  • Health & Safety: Adhere to safety procedures and regulations, identify potential injury causes, report them, and ensure the correct PPE is always worn.
Skills and Experience:
  • Ideally Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship or CNC apprenticeship
  • Must have experience with milling or turning machines
  • Proficiency in using tools and maintaining machinery
  • Familiarity with programming and interpreting CNC software
  • Be comfortable working an earlies and lates shift pattern and be flexible depending on the needs of the business
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Commitment to precision and enforcing quality standards
  
Salary and Benefits:
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, working a rotating morning and afternoon shifts
  • Salary: Up to £33,000 per annum dependent on shift allowance
  • Pension 5% company contribution, minimum 3% employee
