Key Responsibilities
As the Buyer, your duties will include:
- Strategic Material Planning: Analyse and plan material needs to support production schedules.
- Contract Negotiation: Secure optimal terms that balance quality, cost, and availability.
- Supplier Collaboration: Partner with suppliers and production teams to align schedules and meet deadlines.
- Warehouse Integration: Work closely with the warehouse team to optimise the flow of materials.
- Schedule Management: Monitor and adjust material schedules to adapt to production changes.
- Order Fulfillment: Ensure timely placement and progression of orders to meet delivery targets.
- Quality Assurance: Contribute to QA processes to uphold supplier performance and standards.
- Team Development: Provide insights and recommendations to enhance the purchasing strategy and support business growth.
- Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement role
- Strong understanding of cost versus value in a manufacturing context
- Familiarity with agile manufacturing processes and supply chain QA systems
- Proficiency in standard software packages; experience with Sage 200 or similar is advantageous
- Salary up to £35,000 DOE
- 25 days annual leave plus BH
