Ergo Centre Businesses Join Forces to Help Stagecoach ‘Fill the Bus’ for Mission Christmas

Businesses across the Ergo Centre in Hessle have come together this December to support Stagecoach’s “Fill the Bus” tour in aid of Hits Radio Cash for Kids’ Mission Christmas appeal.

The campaign helps ensure local children living in poverty don’t wake up on Christmas morning without a gift to open. Working with Stagecoach, businesses based at the Ergo Centre and across Bridgehead Business Park have rallied together to donate toys, games, books, toiletries and treats – all destined for children and young people in our area.

Filling the bus from the Ergo Centre

As part of the East Yorkshire leg of the tour, the Stagecoach Fill the Bus vehicle stopped at Bridgehead Business Park, giving the Ergo community the chance to hand over their contributions directly. From tech gadgets and board games to cosy pyjamas and craft sets, the collective effort from the Ergo community has helped ensure the bus is packed with presents ready to be distributed by the Mission Christmas team.

“It’s been brilliant to see everyone in the Ergo Centre pulling together for such a worthwhile cause,” said Dawn - Divisional director and specialist HR recruiter. “Every gift represents a child who will have something special to open on Christmas morning – and knowing that our building has played a part in that is really heart-warming.”

Part of a wider regional effort

Stagecoach is touring the region with its festive Fill the Bus initiative, collecting donations from local businesses and members of the public. All gifts collected through the campaign will be passed to Cash for Kids’ Mission Christmas headquarters in Hull, where they are sorted and distributed to children and families most in need.

“Community is at the heart of what we do here at the Ergo Centre,” Dawn added. “Being part of the Bridgehead Business Park means we’re surrounded by organisations that want to give something back. When opportunities like this arise, everyone really steps up.”
