A night to honour excellence
The Women of Achievement Awards (WOAA), organised by Women in Business Hull, is a biennial event recognising women who lead, inspire, and make a difference in their professions, sectors, organisations, or communities. This year’s ceremony welcomed around 400 guests and featured Janet Street-Porter CBE as the keynote speaker.
The awards programme was hosted by Fiona Dwyer, a former ITV Calendar news presenter, guiding the audience through category reveals and presentations.
Celebrated achievements & community spirit
The 2024 awards recognised 11 inspirational women across categories such as New Business, Established Business, Women in STEM, Female Entrepreneur, Lifetime Achievement, and more.
Dr Diana Taylor, Managing Director of Future Humber, was honoured with the Overall Woman of Achievement Award.
Other winners included Gemma Wardell (New Business Award), Natasha Barley (Outstanding Impact Award), Sue Perkins (Lifetime Achievement Award), and Dawn Sullivan (Voluntary Award).
The event also raised over £4,600 for Hull & East Yorkshire Children’s University, adding a meaningful charitable dimension to the celebration of business achievement.
Caroline Neadley, Chair of Women in Business Hull, spoke of the strong sense of unity and pride in the room, thanking the committee, sponsors, nominees, and attendees for making the event such a success.
