Consortium Professional Recruitment was proud to support Mission Christmas once again, collaborating with Viking FM’s Cash for Kids appeal as part of the Fill the Bus campaign. Directors Hannah Blades and Dawn Parker helped host a local collection point at the Ergo Business Centre in Hessle, inviting donations of unwrapped gifts for children across the region.
The Mission Christmas / Cash for Kids partnership
Mission Christmas is an annual gift collection campaign run by Cash for Kids, with support from radio stations such as Viking FM. Its mission is simple yet powerful: to ensure that children aged 0–18, from disadvantaged backgrounds, receive presents during the festive season.
The “Fill the Bus” element of the campaign sees the Viking FM team travel to collection points across the region, gathering gifts from businesses and the public. In 2024, the appeal received applications for over 10,000 local children in East Yorkshire.
Consortium’s role: filling the bus, together
At 3:30 pm on Wednesday 11 December, the Viking FM team arrived at the Ergo Business Centre, where Consortium acted as an official drop-off point. In Dawn’s own words:
“Consortium Recruitment are proud to be supporting this amazing campaign for the 2nd year running … feel free to pop in your gifts or come join other businesses and take directly to the bus … Let’s remind the children that they are not forgotten.”
Looking ahead
We hope to carry this momentum forward into future years. If you would like to get involved in the next Mission Christmas campaign, or collaborate with us on other community initiatives, please get in touch.
To all who donated, shared, or volunteered: thank you for your generosity. Together, we helped ensure that many children woke on Christmas morning to a gift and the reminder that they are not forgotten.
