As an E&I Technician you will be responsible for conducting planned maintenance routines, troubleshooting, and rectifying faults to ensure safe and reliable operation of electrical and instrumentation systems. You will collaborate with the operations team to maintain compliance with regulations and utilise the CMMS accordingly.
  
This role involves working with complex systems such as Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Safety Integrated Systems (SIS) in hazardous areas. Essential and relevant certifications will be required, and experience in similar roles on COMAH sites would be desirable. The role offers autonomy and opportunities for professional development within a supportive work environment.

Key responsibilities of the E&I Technician:
  • Performance of maintenance of all field electrical and instrumentation equipment
  • Responsible for historizing the equipment condition of site electrical and instrumentation systems through the effective use of the CMMS
  • Responding and resolving breakdowns and fault finding of the E&I systems
  • Development into specification and writing E&I permits for others
  • Co-ordination with other disciplines and contract support personnel
  • There will be a requirement to work shifts occasionally to provide cover for the shift E&I Technicians
  • Promote group best practice behaviors within the site
  • Ensure safe operations within your function at all times
  
Qualifications of the E&I Technician
  • Apprentice trained
  • ONC / HNC Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation/Process Control or equivalent
  • NVQ 3 in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation/Process Control or equivalent
  • CompEx trained for both gas and dust (Ex01 to Ex06 inclusive)
  • Working experience in similar roles on COMAH sites
  • Understanding and appreciation of Safety Critical and Safety Instrumented Systems, specifically proof testing of
  • A working understanding of Delta V DCS systems and hardware
  • Proven knowledge on maintenance, repair, and installation of electrical and instrumentation systems
  • Experiences in the issuing and receiving of permits to work
  • Experiences in risk assessment techniques Desirable
  • PLC system knowledge, specifically Siemens S7
